Bob Arnold

Bob Arnold

At DGI Geoscience, we’re proud to introduce Bob Arnold, one of the newest technicians joining our team. Bob is currently in Week 8 of a comprehensive 12-week training program led by our experienced instructor, Chris Crawford. Having started with DGI in April, Bob has already shown exceptional promise and dedication.

Bob’s academic credentials are impressive. He holds a degree in Geology and Geography from Queen’s University in Kingston and has further honed his expertise with a course in Geographical Information Systems (GIS). His solid educational background lays a strong foundation for his role at DGI.

In addition to his academic achievements, Bob has completed a series of rigorous certifications. His training in underground and surface mining is thorough, having completed Common Core Training for both Canada and the USA (MSHA) with Kelly Graham in Ohio. This training included online modules followed by hands-on practice at the NORCAT Training Facilities in Sudbury, Ontario. Bob’s skills are further enhanced by his completion of basic borehole training, which involved analyzing different probes and their interactions with boreholes, both online and at the Hardy Test Hole on a Vale Site in Sudbury.

Bob’s certifications extend beyond mining. He has also completed explosives training, defensive driver’s training, trailering training, and basic rigging training, focusing on the proper operation of crane devices on trucks. His commitment to safety is evidenced by his certificates in WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) and electrical safety training, as well as his extensive first aid and safety training certifications. Additionally, Bob has undergone extensive cyber security training to ensure network protection during data transfers, maintaining the security of client information.

When Bob is not immersed in his professional training, he enjoys an active lifestyle. Residing in an apartment by the beach with a waterfront in Barrie, Bob loves kayaking, bicycling, and playing volleyball. Growing up in the scenic 1,000 Islands area, where the St. Lawrence River meets Lake Ontario, has instilled in him a passion for outdoor activities.

Bob Arnold is a remarkable addition to the DGI Geoscience team. His diverse training and certifications ensure he is well-prepared for the technical and safety aspects of his work. We are confident that Bob’s contributions will significantly enhance our ability to serve our clients with excellence and precision.
